Watercolor Course
“A sketch book of Florence views and gardens”

Level : Beginners and Medium.
Groups : from minimum 3 to 10 persons maximum.

Program contents

-introduction to the material
-observation, drawing and study of the subject
-we will experience the classical techniques of watercolor (work on dry and wet paper, using masking fluid ) and others specific effects (ink, candle, salt, plastic etc...)
-there will be various subjects : studies of views and landscape of the center of Florence, studies of flowers in the gardens (in May or June), architectures and still life.
-the lessons will be given mainly outside with studies from real and sketches, and eventually a few hours in studio with still life and reproductions. In case of rain we will work more in churches, museums and in studio.
-all the didactic activity will be supported by demonstrations, personal advices on the techniques, and eventually corrections that will permit to the students to better learn the techniques.

List of the material - Watercolor course

-1 box of at minimum 12 watercolors (Windsor / Newton - cotman) : lemon yellow, permanent yellow, French ultramarine blue, cobalt blue , sap green, emerald green, carmine red, vermilion red, yellow ochre , natural umber, burnt sienna, black.
-1 block of paper for watercolor, format A4 or 2 papers of watercolor 50x60 in a folder
-3 small round brushes for watercolor n° 2-4-6 (petit gris, sable or synthetic)
-1 pencil HB, 1 eraser.
-1 pilot pen (V5)
-1 sketchbook.
-masking fluid
-absorbent paper ,a little quantity of big sand, a little white candle , a little piece of plastic cellophane.
-2 containers for the water
- 1 plastic plate or palette.
-a little chair for painter

Extra necessary goods.

- confortable dress and a hat for the sun.

The studio can furnish the material by paying a supplement (easel and chair for outside painting not included). Kindly le us known if you need the material at the moment of the reservation.

The above mentioned material costs around 36 to 40 € / person (without the chair).

Drawing course
“Discover Florence art, views and architecture”

-The course wish to give the bases for the correct use of the material and drawing techniques.
-Through exercises of observations the students will improve their experience of the materials, composition, prospective and chiaro-scuro.
-Sketches and studies from real will permit to train the memory vision.
-We will use different medium (red charcoal - sanguigna, charcoal, ink) and different types of paper.
-The lessons will be taken mainly outside, in the center of Florence, where students will have the possibility to make studies of several subjects, or eventually in studio (with sculptures, still life and reproductions). In case of rain we will work more in churches, museums or in studio.
-All the didactic activity will be supported by demonstrations, personal advices on the techniques, and eventually corrections that will permit the students to better learn the techniques.
