Would you like to learn the basics of watercolor painting? This course is for you! We\u2019ll explore how to achieve various color blends and shades,<\/strong> and which paper weights to use<\/strong> depending on the project and desired effects. I invite you to discover some of the tricks of watercolor painting: working on wet and dry paper, using specific brushes,<\/strong> and more unusual materials<\/strong>. Starting with simple subjects, we\u2019ll explore a wide variety of themes: from landscapes<\/strong> to flowers<\/strong> and birds to figures<\/strong> and faces<\/strong>. We\u2019ll alternate between works from photos and compositions from real life.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<\/div>

SKETCHBOOK TECHNIQUE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Would you enjoy sketching outdoors?<\/strong> The sketchbook technique<\/strong> will get you started. With simple studies, you\u2019ll learn to faithfully reproduce color and capture its main chromatic harmonies using pencil and watercolor. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

FOLIAGE AND WATER<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We’ll study landscapes in more detail, to learn how to render the effects of water, foliage, or grass using specific watercolor brushes and tricks. We’ll explore the palette of various greens needed to create a landscape. <\/p>\n<\/div>

WET ON WET<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Through ower arrangements and still lifes, we explore how to work wet on wet<\/strong>, render the various shades of color, work by layering or alla prima in a more gestural way with an approach similar to the Japanese Sumi-e\u0300 technique.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
