Drawing and painting courses for adults
Isabelle’s studio, located in the historic center of Florence (between Piazza San Marco and Piazza Indipendenza), is open to anyone who wishes to learn the techniques of the Masters from the past to the contemporary era, to acquire their own personal expression.
Pedagogy
The gradual teaching is aimed at both beginners and more advanced participants who want to be challenged and guided in developing a personal project. Participants interact together, but each participant is guided according to their level through a program that includes personalized exercises.
A multi-disciplinary approach
The particularity of the pedagogy is that it allows the learning of both graphic and pictorial techniques through 4 well-structured and distinct programs:
- disegno (base e avanzato)
- pastello
- acquerello
- pittura ad olio
It is required to have at least a basic level of drawing to then gradually move on to color techniques.
The working methods can vary: from copying master drawings, to drawing life-deaths or plaster casts (nude/portrait), to modeling from life, up to the development of personal projects. The aim is to develop fundamental skills such as a three-dimensional understanding of form, the rendering of perspective and chiaroscuro, knowledge of anatomy, and, finally, color perception.
A course with limited places
To ensure the quality of teaching and that each student receives maximum attention, groups are made up of a maximum of 7 people.
Personalized teaching
During the workshop, students are guided step by step. Advice is given on the techniques needed to achieve the desired result. The workshop atmosphere is friendly and intimate: groups are kept small to ensure more personalized instruction.
Languages spoken: Lessons can be held in Italian, English, or French.
Preparation for Art Schools
Students wishing to enter art schools or academies (fashion, design) can be guided through a series of life drawing exercises that will lead them to the creation of a portfolio and prepare them for the entrance exam.
Certificate of participation
A certificate of participation in the course can be received upon request.
Template sessions
Nude workshops with models (portrait or nude) are scheduled from time to time.
Philosophy
Learning and mastering various classical and contemporary techniques are the foundation of my teaching, but beyond that, what I seek to convey is a vision that allows everyone to find their own path to self-expression. Furthermore, my studio aims to be a meeting place for cultural and human exchange, where art is a means of better understanding oneself and enriching our outlook on life.
